ADL sub-divide rather than divide spaces, at the same time connecting them, creating what Ludwig Mies van der Rohe defined as “flowing spaces”.
ADL is today the most complete, technologically advanced and aesthetically / functionally driven company in its industry.
Established in 1954, Zanotta is one of the major players of modern Italian design. In fact, Zanotta’s illustrious history is inseparable from that of the country’s design industry. It was one of the pioneering brands that provided designers with a platform to experiment, create and push the boundary of Italian furniture design, ushering the industry into its golden age during the mid-1950s and ’60s. It was also one of the first brands that championed and participated in the first edition of the Salone del Mobile in 1961.
Today, there are over 300 Zanotta pieces being displayed as part of permanent collections in some of the world’s most prestigious museums.
In April 2023 Zanotta merged with Cassina and became part of the Haworth Lifestyle Design group.
Knoll’s legendary story begins in New York in 1938, thanks to the initiative of Hans Knoll, a furniture manufacturer who moved from Germany. In 1941 Knoll hired the renowned architect Florence Shust, who later became his wife and went down in history as Florence Knoll. Since then, modern design has become the pivot around which production is developed, articulated in a wide range of sofas, armchairs, chaise lounges, dormeuse, chairs, tables and Knoll coffee tables.
Inspired by the great masters of the Bauhaus, Knoll has built over the years a catalogue full of iconic pieces that embody the key principles of the Modern Movement, such as functionality and aesthetics with pure and essential lines.
Recognised worldwide as a design leader, Knoll is the recipient of hundreds of design awards, with products represented in major art museums around the world.
In July 2021 Herman Miller and Knoll merged so creating the preeminent leader in modern design. Infact the combined company comprises 19 leading brands, a presence across over 100 countries worldwide, a global dealer network, 64 showrooms globally, more than 50 physical retail locations, and global multi-channel eCommerce capabilities.
Moroso was established in 1952 by Agostino Moroso with the objective of making sofas, armchairs and furnishing accessories. An artisanal approach to product manufacturing and extraordinary creativity in the designing stage formed the foundations of a vision which enabled the firm to grow and distinguish itself in the market for its product quality, innovation and creativity. In the 80`s the second generation of the family launched an exhaustive programme of auteur design studies.
After more than seventy years from its founding, Moroso is still a family driven company positioned among the haute couture of international design, a leading company in upholstered-furniture manufacturing. All made in Italy.
Through the creative input of talented designers Moroso has over the years created a collection of iconic style, all with an unmistakable Moroso touch and feel. Its international outlook has introduced Moroso to some of the most beautiful design settings in the world, including MoMA in New York, Le Palais de Tokyo and the Grand Palais in Paris, and the Venice Biennale, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Significant partnerships which allowed Moroso to create a vast and varied product range equally suited to residential or contract use.
It all started in a small laboratory in the historical centre of the Italian town of Piacenza during the late 1980s. Davide Groppi was inventing and producing his first lamps and decided simply to use his own name for the name of the company. Creative independence and passionate, unconventional management have allowed him, over time, to develop his own brand of original and unique products, currently distributed the world over.
Simplicity, weightlessness, emotion, creative invention and amazement are the fundamental components of each lamp or lighting project designed by Davide Groppi.
Davide Groppi creations come about through the need to give life to something that is necessary or significant.
The things that inspire these ideas are works of art, ready made objects, magic, the desire to make things with his hands or simply the urge to play and have fun with light.
Light, for Davide Groppi, is a wonderful way to seduce and excite.
